Message I recently swapped out my FUCAs from the powertrix versions to the z1 street versions. I was mostly curious about how they would compare, going from a bearing to a bushing.

I've only been driving the z with them installed for the past few days, but the difference back-to-back is noticeable. The steering feel is smoother with less of the road felt through the steering wheel. The handling feels less gritty but equally precise, and is a bit dampened resulting in a more pleasant driving experience.

Inspecting the arms themselves, the design is basic and simple, yet functional. The body halves are quality machined, and the hardware is top-notch quality as well. I also appreciate that they are easier to adjust than many other designs because the adjustment nuts are smaller and easier to access with a wrench. Where I live, we have an extremely short list of competent shops that can perform alignments on modified cars like this, so that's an important factor for me personally.

Another good element is that the street versions allow for basically the same torsional movement that the OEM versions allow, thus taking strain away from the center of the arm that is now absorbed by the bushings. The verdict is still out regarding how long the bushings will last in this configuration, but I don't see any reason why they would wear out any faster than stock urethane replacement bushings. I will comment in the future once I've put some time and real miles on them.

Overall, I recommend them as one of the top FUCA options for anyone considering an upgrade. The race versions include bearings which will likely have most of the same pitfalls of the other similar bearing arms, but the street versions don't appear to have any similar contenders in the market.

Cheers,
JBrobst
